Conservatism: An Exploration of The Republican Party
Abstract
Looking at the history of The Republican Party is important in order to understand how the party has evolved into what it is today. The decisions made in the past have affected the party, as well as the nation. The evolution of the party ended up having an effect on the economy. Young people have strayed from the core political ideology that the Republican Party stands for. The decline of the younger population support has majorly come from the lack of understanding what the conservative party represents. Immigration, abortion and gun control are all issues that divide the whole population politically. The Republican Party's stances on controversial issues draw the more conservative individuals. There is a select group of individuals who wish the party was more conservative. Most of those party members are a part of the Tea Party Movement. They went up against the Democratic Party in hopes of getting their conservative stances represented in American government.
